This ongoing series is an exploration of identity, resilience, and connection - born from repeated, forced departures of photography and, by extension, from my sense of self. It is a retrospective that moves through darkness, discouragement, the fragile belief that I could find my way back and the notion that I needed it in order to feel whole.
Moving through a mental shift after a long healing journey I found myself wanting to dig deeper into what it means to heal, to understand, to create, and to connect. The work serves as a form of reconciliation of my worth and purpose.
A curiosity Into the connections I now find with others, our sexuality, appearances, how we perceive and are perceived. I explore myself through others, and share what I see within them. The darkness, eroticism, confusion, beauty, hope, playfulness and pain.
Ultimately this body of work diverges from what I have been creating, but it also marks a shift back into concepts I have always been curious to explore. Topics I was not brave enough to share, or wise enough to comprehend. I do not know the destination but the journey feels right and I believe the road we find ourselves on is the one we are ready for.
